A 63 Year old Portugal man, Rufino Borrego, was wheel chair bound for 41 years because a doctor misdiagnosed him with an incurable disease when it was the opposite.
He quickly learned how to walk, but oddly enough, he had no ill-feelings towards the hospital that put him in the wheelchair.
When interviewed why he felt that way he said “I just want to make use of my life”.
Why this is incredible and why I love this man:
- He didn’t hold any anger towards the hospital
- He didn’t dwell on what he lost, but on what he had now.
- He makes me want to do something bigger than what I’m doing
Maybe with age really does come wisdom, because there’s no way I would’ve felt the same way he did.
